A Cape Girardeau County judge rejected their attempt this year, but ruled that they could still argue for a portion of the money.
“Our clients have been barred from asserting their rights,” Andrew Leroy, a lawyer representing Trampler, argued before a panel of three judges of the Missouri Court of Appeals.
“We know that they would like to join the fray. We know that there are some benefits to them to join the fray,” Graham said. “They can drag this thing out. They can create some pressure. They can get a lot of notoriety, and they could probably squeeze, if they want, some more money out of us.”
