Lindsay Lohan: meet Helena Bonham Carter
12 July, 2013
On the heels of Liz & Dick, Lifetime’s campy take on the love story of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton that starred none other than Lindsay Lohan, BBC America will be delivering another made-for-TV version this fall. Because they couldn’t call it Liz & Dick, this one is called … Burton And Taylor. (Innovation!)
This one stars Dominic West and Helena Bonham Carter
A+E Networks will oversee the international distribution of “Liz & Dick.” The TV film starring Lindsay Lohan was shown on November 25.
Actress Lindsay Lohan was arrested outside a popular Chelsea nightclub early November 29 and charged with misdemeanor assault after striking a female patron in the face, police said.
The NYPD said Lohan, 26, was arrested outside Avenue, a 10th Avenue hot spot located between West 17th and West 18th streets in Manhattan, by 10th Precinct officers at 4 a.m.
An NYPD spokesman told Newsday Lohan was “involved in some type of dispute” inside Avenue. “She struck another female patron in the face and was arrested a short time later outside the club.”
Police characterized the injuries inflicted by Lohan in the alleged incident as “minor.” Police said Lohan would likely be released after being issued a desk appearance ticket.
After all that hype, Lifetime‘s Liz & Dick drew 3.5 million total viewers. The TV movie about the tempestuous love affair between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton is the fourth-most-watched original movie premiere on ad-supported cable this year, drawing 3 million fewer viewers than the 6.5 million who watched Steel Magnolias on the network in October. Almost universally panned, Liz & Dick starred Lindsay Lohan as Taylor and Grant Bowler as Burton. It averaged 1.3 million viewers in the 18-49 demographic and 1.3 million adults 25-54. Lifetime’s Amanda Knox: Murder On Trial In Italy original movie attracted 2.8 million total viewers in February 2011, down from the 5.4 million who tuned in for the network’s The Craigslist Killer in January 2011.
