Former International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn was ordered to pay 74,792 euros ($82,400) in back taxes and interest in a Luxembourg court ruling over his role at a bankrupt hedge fund he co-founded

By judgment of 2 November 2016, No. 36410 of the role, the Third Chamber of the Administrative Court rejected and declared unfounded the action brought by Mr Dominique Strauss-Kahn against such a decision of the Director of Administration of Direct Contribution rejecting her complaint against an appeal bulletin collateral issued against him.

The court essentially held that the mere quality administrator of Mr. Strauss-Kahn of the LSK company can not exempt him from personal responsibility for the compliance with legal and statutory obligations of that company, as a director as a representative of a company, acting in lieu thereof, shall ensure enforcement of tax obligations of the legal entity he represents one of those obligations consisting in particular for the legal representative a company to operate, report and remit the withholding tax and, in general, to be paid on the funds it manages the taxes the company owes. The court therefore considered that Mr Strauss-Kahn was responsible, together with the CEO, to conduct the withholding taxes on wages and salaries of the LSK company employees and continue the amounts due to it under the administration direct Contributions.

The court therefore confirmed the obligation on the part of Mr. Dominique Strauss-Kahn to pay the sum of 74,792.40, – euros in principal and interest resulting from unrealized tax deductions for 2014.

In October 2013, Dominique Strauss-Kahn became president of Leyne , Strauss- Kahn .    A total of 31 offshore companies were “established and operated by a subsidiary of LSK called ASSYA Asset Management Luxembourg (AAML)” and were registered in the Seychelles, the British Virgin Islands, Panama and Hong Kong, Strauss-Kahn had hoped to turn LSK into a $2 billion investment fund and headed its board of directors from September 2013 to October 2014. A subsidiary of LSK had been setting up offshore companies for wealthy clients since 2007,when AAML was called MZ Finance, named after its French founders Jean-Christophe and Fabien Zuili amount. These practices predate the arrival of DSK to head LSK, the other leader, Thierry Leyne committed suicide there a year and a half.
