[July 11 2019] French former Prime Minister Francois Fillon and his wife will stand trial between February 24 and March 10, a Paris court said. [March 23 2019] Investigating judges have recommended a trial for the 65-year-old conservative and his British wife Penelope on charges of misusing public money, conspiracy and failing to fully disclose their financial situation to a French watchdog. Under France’s legal system, Fillon can appeal the decision to put him on trial.

  1. The trial of former Prime Minister Francois Fillon, his former deputy in the Assembly and his wife Penelope in the case of fictitious jobs that would have benefited the latter, was set Thursday, February 24 to March 11, 2020 by the Paris Criminal Court.
